Man Gets Time-Served for Murder of Soap Opera Actress

Dateline San Diego – May 15, 2003   The grand-nephew of former Philippines President Corazon Aquino was charged with first-degree murder in the execution-style murder of an actress from the soap opera The Young and the Restless in her Lomita home. The unsolved murder was featured on the TV crime show America’s Most Wanted which led to the arrest of 20-year-old Hugo Jiminez and 17-year-old Brian Aquino.

Hugo Jimenez was sentenced to 40 years-to-life in state prison by Superior Court Judge Peter Deddeh. Brian Aquino was sentenced to the time he served in jail awaiting trial. Therefore, he was released from custody following his sentencing hearing.
